A sad Goodbye.

Its unlike me to blog about personal or private events, but I find myself tonight overcome with grief and turning to my blog to express it. This has been a very difficult week for our family. Two days ago Lee received a call that his Mom's heart had stopped, and she had been life-flighted to a hospital in Utah. It took one look at his face walking in the door from school, to know something was very wrong, Lee rarely gets upset. Lee's mother was put on life support and the family was given no hope of any brain activity.

This news came out of the blue with no prior medical heart issues. I am humbled beyond belief at my sweet husband's faith and love for the Lord as he prayed to understand Heavenly Father's plan for his mother. Lee was able to fly to Utah to be with his family when they turned off the life support, and next week we will fly back for a funeral. I am so grateful for the plan of salvation and for our Savior who made that possible.
Lee's mother Wendy had many admirable qualities which I want to strive to learn better. She was a very patient woman, and an incredible listener. She was a quite reserved woman, but extremely humble and full of humility. She was not a prideful person, and had a way of understanding others, while never judging them. She was very open, and loved others unconditionally. I am grateful for her, I believe she is responsible for so much of the goodness that is in my husband. She is his Mother, Mothers love their sons, this I know.

Above is a picture with Lee and his mother, (middle) Grandmother, and baby Jack, taken on the 2nd of April 2009.

As promised.....Lee's on stage flip

Okay just like I promised here on the pictures from Lee's back flip stunt at the Powell Butte Ward Talent Show! What a sport, I signed the poor guy up unknowingly and he had no choice but to perform. The first picture is us, just a little bit before if was his turn. Does he look nervous? "Hahaha, and I couldn't help but mess with him while we waited." Though there was no need to panic, as you can see below he flipped like a champ! What a guy.

And yes for all of you wondering, he landed on both feet no hands!

Tulip Festival

Last Saturday we were able to visit the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn Oregon. Our friends the Weikels being native Oregonians showed us the way and gave us the grand tour. The tulips were beautiful, but it was a little cold for this time of year. Jackson and Charlene had a good time, but not as much fun as their Mom's who just couldn't get enough baby flower pictures. It was a busy Saturday followed by our ward party talent show, where Lee did a standing back flip, no hands and on the hard stage! Yes he is amazing I know. It was a crowd favorite. (I will post future pictures) :) I highly reccomend a drive to the tulip farm, such amazing colors. Happy Spring from our family to yours...

Easter Sunday & a Shiner

We had an eventful Easter, On Saturday we attended a baby Easter party, and had a good time at the Wiekel's decorating eggs. Jackson is is a busy boy these days. He is not only crawling every where at 8 months but he is almost walking on his own. He cruises along everything, furniture, tables, dishwashers, bathtubs, anything with a slight ledge. He can also stand alone for about 30 seconds. During these recent explorations Jack recieved his first shiner after a table leg got in the way of his right eye. Boys will be Boys.

The Top picture is shiner day #1,the lower picture where bubee looks a little drugged ( blame it on those 5:30 am mornings :) ) is the shiner day #4

Spring Break in Utah

During Lee's Spring break from Western States Chiropractic College we were able to visit Utah for my Grandma Ellen Peterson's 80th birthday party, as well as visit other famiy and friends along the way. Jackson did well on the airplane, he slept most of the way.

Jackson and cousin Cali, born just 11 days apart.
Jackson with his new freind Kloden.

Jack and his new girlfriend Harley

Of course my Grandma looked amazing as always, especially for 80 years old. Happy birthday Gram ,we love you.

As you can see Jackson did not like the swimming pool. It was late at night and we were staying at the Marriott in Provo so that I could run the Provo 1/2 marathon the next day. There were lots of noisy kids at the pool and Jack got scared.

Yes those little white specks are snow! April 4th was a snow storm in Provo, all 13 miles.
